I just want everyone to know that Lee Mack put this sentence into his autobiography (the context being things he’d learned from the only three experiences he’d ever had of being drunk on stage), and then he never expanded upon that to tell us the rest of the story.
Lee started his book with a joke about how the only reason people read celebrity autobiographies is to hear stories about that celebrity getting drunk with Kerry Katona, and he would disappoint us by not having any of those.
Look. I don’t know who Kerry Katona is, and at this point I refuse to look her up (I’ve worked out that she’s a singer, but I don’t want to know more than that because not knowing who she is makes early Mock the Week episodes, and other panel show jokes from that time, funnier to me). But I would pay so much money for a book that’s just stories of Lee Mack getting drunk with Noel Fielding. He wouldn’t even have to do any work. Just give me a stream-of-consciousness rough draft; those are easy as hell to write. I am technically a professional editor; I’ll do all the hard work of editing it for free. It’s fine. We can make this work.
Anyway, I like to believe that the above excerpt from his autobiography is the story of when this picture was taken:
No, I’m not like Munya. You kind of giving it… You need to give it to the man, bro, I’ve been telling you.
John Kearns & Munya Chawawa being a delightful duo on TASKMASTER SERIES 14 (2022) + bonus - the start of this dynamic, since they hadn’t met before the show:
